Downtown Atkinson
State Street and Main Street are the most popular routes leading to Atkinson's downtown area. The most common intersection of State & Main is a picturesque corner with beautiful, landscaped curbing and trees. Along these 2 streets you can find the right businesses to fit your grocery, hardware, retail, liquor, banking, and specialty shopping needs. The downtown area also includes a library, laundromat, auto repair, spa, fitness center, post office, beauty shops, senior center, thrift store, restaurant, dance studio, insurance & much more!
Mill Race Park
Formerly known as Atkinson State Lake & Recreation Area, Mill Race Park received it's name through a community-wide contest that was held after the state "gifted" the site back to the community. Activities include, bird watching (great site for geese), hiking around the lake or on the Bluebird Trail, fishing, animal watching, camping, picnicking and playground. New playground equipment installed! Camping pads complete with electricity and water hookups are available. Public restrooms & new shower house on site.

Sturdevant McKee Museum
Located at 999 S. Main Street in Atkinson, the Sturdevant-McKee Museum is a period-home museum which was placed on the National Historic Site in 1999. Brantly and Ellen Sturdevant moved to Atkinson in 1885 and built the house in 1887, and it remained in the family until it was donated to the Sturdevant-McKee Foundation in 1994. The house is of the Queen Anne style of architecture and is furnished with items from the Sturdevant-McKee families. These furnishings illustrate life in the late 19th and early 20th century.
